Writers Room

Writers Room is an open-source writing studio that runs inside Claude Code. It helps you develop rough ideas into researched, edited drafts worth publishing, in a voice that reads as yours rather than as a model.

Most of the studio is a local knowledge vault: who you are writing for, the themes you want to explore, canonical facts about you and your work, samples you have actually published, and an auditable spec of how you write. That context is what lets it guess both what you might say and how you would say it.

The part I care about most happens after the draft. When I edit its final output, Writers Room captures the difference between what it wrote and what I published, and turns those decisions into evidence-backed rules for next time. It doesn’t just learn from what I upload. It learns from my pushback.

Everything runs on local Markdown files with a kanban interface, no hosted backend, nothing publishes without approval. MIT licensed, still alpha, and far enough along that I use it to write my own work.
